As a Leather Goods Prototyper at myCTC, you will play a crucial role in the early stages of product development. Your expertise will be essential in collaborating with project managers and clients to bring innovative designs to life.
Key Responsibilities:- Engage closely with project development managers and clients from project inception.
- Produce stylistic mockups, iterating through various designs until achieving final approval.
- Propose alternative materials, techniques, and processes while balancing style, feasibility, quality, and cost considerations.
- Establish operational workflows by defining tasks and collaborating with methods to create detailed time sheets.
- Evaluate material and component usage for product industrialization.
- Prepare and finalize technical documentation for workshop execution.
- Demonstrate the ability to create unique pieces across various product categories (such as leather goods, small leather items, luggage, etc.) under tight deadlines and with diverse materials.
- Exemplary interpersonal skills to foster collaboration with design, development, and production teams.
- Self-motivated and proactive in identifying, proposing, and implementing technical solutions.
- Strong listening and communication abilities to grasp the needs and constraints of all stakeholders.
- Capacity to anticipate and adapt to evolving requirements while adhering to deadlines.

Qualifications: A Professional Baccalaureate or Bachelor's degree in leather goods design and production, or equivalent internal training in prototyping (transitioning from leatherworker to prototyper).
Experience: Demonstrated experience in mockups and prototyping of leather goods and small leather items. Proficiency in digital design and patterning software for soft products. A minimum of 5 years of experience as a leather prototyper, preferably within luxury brands or high-end subcontractors. Familiarity with cutting, preparation, and assembly machinery is essential.
