About the Role:
The mission of DoubleVerify is to equip media buyers with fully automated purchasing strategies for display campaigns, resulting in unparalleled performance with minimal human intervention.
The Data Engineering team is integral to the DoubleVerify product ecosystem, ensuring effective communication between the company and its partners. All teams depend on accurate and dependable data. We handle a wide array of diverse and high-volume data. The team also oversees outbound communications with partners, utilizing partner APIs in conjunction with a set of business rules to upload models generated by the Scibids product.
As the Manager of Data Engineering, you will lead the data engineering team and actively contribute to project development.
Your responsibilities will include formulating OKRs and the Data Engineering roadmap, managing daily task prioritization, and sharing best practices within the team. You will also evaluate and challenge various methods to ensure job scalability.
Additionally, you will engage in development efforts to enhance the product. The scope of the data engineer's work encompasses:
- Creation of ELT jobs (API data extraction, data formatting, big data insertion)
- Development of APIs and libraries to facilitate inter-team communication
- Contribution to the creation of a reverse ETL for uploading DoubleVerify models
Reporting to: Senior Director of Data Engineering
Minimum Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in data engineering or software engineering
- At least one prior experience in a leadership role
- Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages
- Strong skills in SQL and Python
- Ability to write code that is simple and concise (KISS principle)
- Willingness and capability to learn additional programming languages as required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Professional experience with large datasets
- Experience with at least two of the following: distributed and parallel systems, information retrieval, development of large software systems
- Regularly conducting technology assessments on data-related topics
