About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled Reinsurance Accounting Specialist to join our team at Liberty Specialty Markets. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for providing accurate and efficient accounting and reporting services for our reinsurance clients.

About the Department & Team:

Our team is responsible for managing the operational process for our international reinsurance business, providing accurate and efficient data management of reinsurance accounts, with quality service levels. You will work in partnership with the underwriting function and in collaboration with other support teams and colleagues in other locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform day-to-day operational underwriting & accounting support in an efficient, accurate and timely manner.
  • Liaise with clients and provide financial information and advice.
  • Maintain accounting records and prepare accounts and management information.
  • Monitor credit control functions of Reinsurance Receivable/Payable and related Bank Accounts.
  • Work collaboratively with other functional areas (Operations, Finance, Claims) and other LSM branch finance teams.
  • Be responsible for the first line Credit Control processes and reports.
  • Support and development of the reporting processes, audits, etc.
  • Performing tests to check financial information and systems.
  • Work in assigned projects.

Skills and Experience:

  • P&C insurance industry experience in Reinsurance Accounting or Controlling.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or other Business degree preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in dealing with Reinsurance Accounting (Treaty & Facultative) and understanding of technical booking and reporting processes.
  • Strong organizational, analytical and multi-tasking skills necessary to manage multiple deadlines and changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate with others, adapt to change and accept challenging assignments.
  • Excellent communications skills both written and verbal (English).
