About the Role

Kpler is seeking an experienced Market Data Analyst to join our Market Data Operations team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring high-quality data collection, processing, and analysis of data related to Vegoil/Biofuels markets.

Key Responsibilities
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Operate as a subject matter expert on the global vegoils/biofuels markets, understanding the relationship between feedstocks, supply, demand, and trade flows, supporting the global team.
  • Data Quality Assurance: Perform daily checks and edits of data on Kpler platform to ensure the reliability and accuracy of global seaborne flows, supply & demand.
  • Client Support: Draft fast-response analysis to ad-hoc requests from clients and assist the sales and customer success teams in meeting clients' data needs.
  • Research and Analysis: Conduct research, including identifying new data sources and statistical analysis of results.
  • Communication: Prepare written correspondence and engage directly with clients to present analysis.
  • Market Monitoring: Monitor market news and developments to extract meaningful patterns and detect new trends.
  • Process Improvement: Help drive continuous improvements to the team's data quality procedures and a consistent approach to how data quality is measured, monitored, and reported.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years' experience in commodity markets, with experience in data analytics.
  • Subject matter expertise in at least one related vegoil/biofuels market.
  • Experience working with large, disparate, and/or unstructured data sets (advanced Excel, BI tools, and SQL skills). Python knowledge a plus.
  • Excellent analytical ability, with the ability to highlight trends and use complex data to support decisions.
  • Persistent, with a natural curiosity about biofuels market fundamentals and technical details.
  • Well-rounded communication skills that implement good listening, writing, and verbal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a global team environment, focusing on collaboration and adapting to the needs of a diverse team.
  • Adept at managing multiple tasks and adhering to regular deadlines.
