Financial Audit Consultant Role

We are seeking a highly qualified Financial Audit Consultant to oversee the external financial audit of our organization. The selected consultant will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy, transparency, and accountability of our financial reporting processes.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive audits of financial reports related to specific projects and programs, ensuring compliance with grant agreements and EU procedures.
  • Perform agreed-upon procedures outlined in EU guidelines for risk analysis and verification procedures.
  • Issue detailed audit reports based on EU models, providing clear and concise conclusions on the eligibility of declared expenses.
  • Conduct annual expense verifications throughout the duration of projects to maintain financial integrity.
Requirements
  • Membership in a national accounting or auditing body affiliated with IFAC (International Federation of Accountants).
  • Registration as a legal auditor in a public oversight body in an EU member state or third country.
  • Adherence to IFAC ethical standards for professional accountants, ensuring the highest level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Independence from FIDH to maintain objectivity and impartiality throughout the audit process.
Methodology

The successful candidate will employ a rigorous methodology that includes:

  • Preparation and scheduling of expense verification activities, fieldwork, document review, risk analysis, and sampling procedures.
  • Detailed documentation and evidence gathering to support all verification procedures.
Subcontracting and Budget

The consultant must obtain written approval before subcontracting any part of the audit. The total budget for the financial audit will be subject to pre-defined limits.
