Research Overview: This project aims to delve into the rich biodiversity of La Réunion to discover novel anti-infectious agents targeting the dengue virus. The research will involve:
1. Selecting plant species based on traditional medicinal uses.
2. Screening extracts from these plants against the four serotypes of the dengue virus.
3. Identifying specialized metabolites.
4. Developing standardized plant extracts.
5. Assessing the influence of these extracts on dengue transmission by Aedes albopictus mosquitoes.

Qualifications: Candidates should possess a Master's degree in Health Biology or Pharmaceutical Sciences, have a solid understanding of virology, and demonstrate effective communication skills in both French and English. Laboratory experience, motivation, autonomy, organizational skills, adherence to safety protocols, and the ability to work collaboratively are essential.

Research Environment: The research will be conducted at UMR PIMIT, which is affiliated with the CYclotron Réunion Océan Indien (CYROI) platform. This facility is equipped for advanced molecular and cellular biology experiments, including level 3 containment laboratories for experimental infections involving the dengue virus. The doctoral research will leverage a high-throughput screening platform developed through a collaborative project.

Safety Considerations: All experiments will take place in level 2 and level 3 containment laboratories, necessitating strict compliance with established safety protocols.
