Customer Engineering Director for Commercial Vehicles

Position Overview
We are seeking a seasoned Customer Engineering Leader to represent Garrett in front of our commercial vehicle customers. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for building and developing deep customer relationships, supporting business wins, and serving as the primary point of contact for customer senior engineering executives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and lead customer technology roadmaps, ensuring alignment with mid to long-term customer team strategic plans.
- Secure business wins through technical offers, flawless launches, and advanced product quality planning.
- Manage customer escalations, lead launch resolution issues, and field issue resolutions.
- Lead engineer project teams, assigned by the project to respective customers, and coach lead engineers to bring back improvements to internal functions.
- Responsible for bids, value engineering, homologation launch readiness reviews, and engineering resource planning activities.
- Ensure the latest tools and processes are deployed within project teams.
- Bring new ideas and be a change agent in how to work differently and more efficiently.
- Responsible for hiring process, onboarding, and unified career path process for development engineers and designers.
Requirements
- Engineering university degree, Master or MBA is a plus.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience.
- Deep understanding of customer relations and strong technical expertise in main areas impacting successful launches.
- Demonstrated skills in product development, component design/manufacturing, managing multi-cultural teams, and communicating with customers of different segments and cultures.
