Job Summary
The CNRS is seeking a highly skilled Postdoctoral Researcher to contribute to the development of the future CMS trajectory and data analysis in the quark top sector. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team working on the construction of the future CMS trajectory at the LHC and the analysis of data from the Run 3 of the LHC.
About the Role
The Postdoctoral Researcher will be responsible for:
- Characterizing silicon detection modules using CMS-developed software and developing a software system for security and control (DCS) for thermal tests of these modules.
- Analyzing data on the search for CP violation in the quark top sector using data from Run 2 and 3 of the LHC.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have:
- Strong programming skills in Python and C++.
- Familiarity with IoT technologies such as Grafana, Node-RED, and MQTT.
- Experience with version control systems such as Git.
- Excellent communication skills in English.
About the Team
The CNRS is a leading research institution in France, and the IP2I is a key player in the CMS collaboration. The team has a strong track record of contributions to the development, installation, and operation of the CMS detector, including the discovery of the Higgs boson in 2012. The team is also actively involved in the analysis of LHC data and has a significant role in the effort to improve CMS for the HL-LHC.
Working Conditions
The Postdoctoral Researcher will work in a dynamic and international environment, with opportunities for short-term missions to Geneva, Hamburg, or Louvain-la-Neuve. The work will be carried out primarily at the IP2I in a dedicated clean room.
