Mission Description

The Subsystem Architect is tasked with establishing the strategic direction for their subsystem.
They are accountable for achieving targets related to Quality, Cost, Time, and Performance.
They ensure the coherence of the subsystems up to the Component layer.
They engage in discussions and negotiations with the vehicle system architect and other subsystem architects to design the functional and logical interfaces within their scope.

Responsibilities include:
- Organizing and leading a design team that encompasses all stakeholders involved in the design process.
- Managing the identification of requirements and negotiating with upstream stakeholders.
- Identifying constraints and opportunities arising from benchmarks, component layers, regulatory changes, and other sources.
- Developing and maintaining the architecture of the subsystems (operational, functional, construction) to optimize Cost, Quality, Deadline, and Performance.
- Coordinating and managing the delivery of design outputs.
- Ensuring the robustness of subsystem design outputs through technical reviews.
- Contributing to the advancement of Stellantis subsystem engineering methodologies.
- Monitoring technological advancements relevant to their subsystem.

They will coordinate activities involving stakeholders from all technical centers.

The architect will develop the technical policy for the subsystem and provide feedback to the repository custodian.
They will define subsystem strategies, including diversity management and validation.
They will contribute to the establishment of design methodologies and standards.
They will enforce the technical policy of the subsystem and ensure the achievement of Quality, Cost, Time, and Delivery objectives.
They will gather and negotiate requirements from system and other subsystem divisions, as well as manufacturing sectors.
They will also collect and negotiate component constraints and opportunities.
They will define the subsystem architecture and design strategy, including modularity and diversity management, and allocate requirements to the technical specifications of components.
They will outline strategies for integrating the subsystem into the manufacturing process.
They will decompose requirements to components and justify the subsystem design while ensuring traceability.
They will develop or contribute to the Subsystem Integration and Validation Plan and analyze technical facts.
They will communicate achievements to projects and facilitate the design group.
They will operationally manage the actors within the subsystem domain and enhance the operational efficiency of the actors in the subsystem domain.

Reports to the Head of the division.
Functional Relationships:
- Implement the strategic directions established by system architects.
- Collaborate and negotiate with system architects and other subsystems, system synthesis professionals, and related fields (other subsystems, physical and digital validations).
- Serve as the functional manager for other actors within the subsystem.
- Engage with Innovation teams.
- Ensure the coherence of solutions developed with the component stratum actors.
