We are seeking a Financial Controlling Manager for the Western Region, responsible for overseeing accounting and controlling functions across Belgium, the Netherlands, and France.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the Accounting and Controlling teams in France, while also managing the teams in Belgium and the Netherlands.
- Ensure compliance with financial policies and accounting standards in both entity and group reporting.
- Oversee internal control processes in accordance with SOX regulations.
- Participate in and lead projects aimed at enhancing financial reporting and operational efficiency (including SAP implementations and PSCI migrations).
Role Scope:
• Supervise month-end closing processes and reporting for the entities, ensuring accuracy in financial data reported within the business unit (both internal and external).
• Approve or calculate financial journal entries in accordance with local and US GAAP standards, with a focus on France.
• Manage Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable operations in France.
• Review financial implications in legal contracts, revenue recognition, and contingencies, ensuring compliance with local and US GAAP.
• Conduct research on technical accounting matters to ensure compliance.
• Lead initiatives related to financial reporting and process improvements.
• Liaise with internal and external auditors.
• Oversee reporting within the ERP system.
• Authorize banking transactions and payments.
• Ensure timely completion of periodic and annual tax returns.
• Fulfill statutory reporting obligations (including social security, Banque de France, Insee, etc.).
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) with a minimum of 10 years of progressively responsible experience in a large corporate setting, demonstrating a successful track record in addressing business challenges.
• Proficiency in English and French.
• Extensive knowledge and experience with SOX controls.
• Strong proficiency in MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
• Self-motivated individual capable of working independently to meet reporting and project deadlines.
• Effective people manager, skilled in guiding and directing a diverse team.
• Ability to collaborate within a remote team environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
