Job Summary

C12 Quantum Electronics is a fast-growing start-up that is developing reliable and application-specific quantum computers to solve highly complex computing tasks. We are seeking a highly skilled Quantum Chip Design Lead to join our team and drive improvements in the microwave performances of our quantum chips through modeling and design.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement new circuit architectures to improve the performance of gates and readout
  • Collaborate with the Nanofabrication team to design and lay out superconducting integrated circuits for quantum processors
  • Manage a Quantum Hardware RF Engineer to ensure the successful development of quantum hardware
  • Build GDS design of circuits using custom simulation tools based on Python and simulate them using commercial software (HFSS, ADS Quantum Pro)
  • Collaborate with fabrication and experimental teams to determine different circuit architectures to fabricate and measure
  • Measure at low temperatures the microwave properties of the circuits that you have designed and modeled

Requirements:

  • PhD in experimental quantum physics
  • Research and/or industry experience
  • Good understanding of circuit quantum electrodynamics and quantum dots
  • Good understanding of semiconductor fabrication processes
  • Deep knowledge of computational modeling, in particular to quantum circuits, integrated or lumped element electrical circuit
  • Experience using commercial EM solvers (HFSS, COMSOL, CST)
  • Ability to collaborate across diverse teams of expert engineers
  • Fluent English language skills
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently
  • Curious and passionate about technology with a particular interest in quantum
  • Start-up mindset
