About the PositionWe are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientific Officer to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of frontier research. Your expertise will be instrumental in driving scientific excellence, promoting international collaboration, and nurturing a vibrant scientific community.
Key Responsibilities- Scientific Outreach and Communication
- Contribute to the development of engaging scientific content, including annual reports, science digests, and award booklets.
- Collaborate with our Science Communications Division to create an active alumni community and showcase the breadth of frontier research.
- Contribute to the development of new programs and initiatives, including proposals, background analyses, and literature reviews.
- Support the drafting of guidelines, reference documentation, and policies underpinning our award cycle and new initiatives.
- Support the annual cycle for HFSP Awards, including research grants, fellowships, and the S4S Initiative.
- Collaborate with our Director of Awards to manage the peer review process, including the selection of review committee members and mail reviewers.
- PhD in life sciences or a related field with a strong scientific background.
- At least 7 years of experience in academic research, grant writing, and peer review.
- Excellent scientific writing and communication skills.
- Ability to manage a diverse workload, prioritize tasks, and collaborate with colleagues.
- Strong project management skills and experience working in a multi-national/cultural environment.
