# About SBS Digital Lending

With the agility of a fintech and the backing of the Sopra Steria group, Sopra Banking Software develops technological solutions for financial institutions globally, ensuring services are accessible to everyone, everywhere, at any time. As a prominent player in financial technology, our mission is to foster a better financial landscape.
Since our inception in 1968, we have been dedicated to aiding financial institutions in their digital transformation, utilizing our extensive domain expertise alongside cutting-edge technologies.

In 2024, SBS is launching its Digital Lending business unit, following the acquisition of the French startup October, with the aim of providing SMEs with a seamless financing experience through a cost-effective SaaS end-to-end lending solution for financial institutions.

Being part of SBS Digital Lending means embarking on an entrepreneurial journey while being part of a robust organization. It offers the opportunity to instill an agile and dynamic mindset while leveraging years of experience in the SaaS and financing sectors.

Technology at SBS Digital Lending

We view the reinvention of financing as a significant technological challenge, which is why we established October as a tech and data-driven startup. Currently, 18 developers are focused on creating the best financing experience, working closely with the Product team.

We have a strong preference for TypeScript at SBS Digital Lending. Consequently, every component of our stack is built on JavaScript: we utilize and MongoDB for back-end development, for web applications, and React Native for mobile solutions. We emphasize ownership and mentorship at SBS Digital Lending. By adhering to best coding practices and engaging in code reviews, we ensure the delivery of high-quality code while enabling developers to enhance their skills.

Our teams follow the Scrum methodology, with the Tech and Product teams divided into three squads, alongside a dedicated DevOps platform team.

Currently, three individuals are focused on our infrastructure and data platform, with 15 developers eager to learn and implement DevOps best practices.

Security is a shared responsibility across squads, ensuring that every team member is accountable.

Your Responsibilities
  • Ensure that the engineering team has all necessary resources to perform at their best and deliver on the roadmap.
  • Collaborate with the Product team to manage expectations, clarify technical challenges, and draft clear functional specifications.
  • Assist in recruiting top-tier engineers for the team.
  • Contribute to our infrastructure, tools, and processes as a DevOps engineer.
  • Develop a scalable, secure, and highly available infrastructure on AWS using Terraform, while optimizing operational costs.
  • Support the Tech team in monitoring, observability, and resilience of the platform.
  • Aid the Tech team in implementing continuous integration and deployment, feature flags, and blue-green deployment strategies.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution.
  • Lead initiatives focused on security, including penetration testing, bug bounty programs, and dependency updates.
Qualifications
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in a DevOps or SRE role.
  • Proficiency in AWS or another cloud service provider.
  • Experience with a backend programming language and an Infrastructure as Code framework, such as Terraform.
  • Familiarity with a DBMS (SQL or NoSQL).
  • Strong understanding of code quality best practices (testing, CI/CD, etc.).
  • A passion for security.
  • A curious mindset and eagerness to expand technical skills.
  • Proficiency in English for communication and collaboration.
