The Pediatric Psychiatry Day Hospital operates within the Mental Health Department of the Centre Hospitalier de l'Ouest Guyanais, focusing on delivering specialized care to children aged 0 to 12 years. Our dedicated multidisciplinary team is available five days a week to provide essential early intervention services.
Key Responsibilities:- Deliver nursing care, therapeutic interventions, and preventive strategies autonomously or as directed by medical professionals.
- Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team, including medical and paramedical personnel.
- Gather and evaluate clinical information to assess patient needs.
- Conduct thorough interviews with patients, their families, and relevant stakeholders.
- Offer therapeutic support and guidance to children and their families.
- Plan and execute therapeutic activities tailored to individual needs.
- Monitor and document patient health progress.
- Facilitate referrals to external service providers as necessary.
- Engage in patient care meetings to discuss treatment plans.
- Contribute to the organization and documentation of patient care.
- Supervise and mentor nursing interns.
- Encourage social skills and promote autonomy among patients.
- Conduct home visits to support families.
- Strong understanding of child and adolescent mental health issues.
- Proven ability to establish rapport with children and families, manage crises, and demonstrate empathy.
- Knowledge of healthcare systems and cultural considerations.
- Experience in collaborating with external agencies.
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying updated with best practices.
- Familiarity with safety protocols, including those related to infectious diseases.
This position requires a commitment of 37.5 hours per week, with fixed weekends off.
Compensation:- Salary commensurate with experience.
- Includes a 40% cost of living adjustment.
- Tax deductions applicable within specified limits.
