Fiber Optics Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Fiber Optics Engineer to join our team at Quandela. As a key member of our research and development team, you will be responsible for the fiber pigtailing process, ensuring stable and efficient coupling of emitted single photons into monomode fiber.
Responsibilities- Develop and optimize high-precision optical tools required for the pigtailing process.
- Characterize performance and improve the process for devices operation at cryogenic temperature.
- Participate in research work for next-generation devices.
- Assist characterization engineers with optical characterization of devices.
- Operate cryogenic integration.
- 3 years' experience (including PhD) in a relevant research laboratory.
- Strong fundamentals in optics, high-precision tools, and fiber coupling techniques.
- Numerical calculation of optical properties of devices using Lumerical, Comsol, or common software.
- Instrument communication using Python or other common language.
- Laboratory experience with solid-state quantum emitters and high-precision optics.
- Laboratory expertise with cryogenic systems is highly appreciated.
- Proven ability to build and run complex optical experiments from the ground up.
- Team player with the ability to work effectively across multiple projects and departments.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to maintain an organized, frequent, and clear reporting.
