Job Title: Statistician / Machine Learning / Data Scientist in Industrial R&D

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Scientist to join our team at Lesaffre Institute for Science and Technology. As a Data Scientist, you will play a key role in accelerating our Research and Development program by leveraging advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms to support our researchers and engineers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement advanced statistical models and machine learning algorithms to support cross-functional teams
  • Build and analyze complex Design of Experiments (DoE) to drive business decisions
  • Communicate complex analytical findings and insights to diverse stakeholders through interactive data visualizations, reports, and presentations
  • Participate in discussions on project orientation and result valorization
  • Contribute to the evaluation of scientific robustness and integrity of data generated and analyzed
  • Contribute to the emergence of a community around DoEs, data analysis, and statistics within the company
Requirements:
  • Master or PhD degree in Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 3+ years of relevant experience as a statistician in an industrial environment or in R&D
  • Fluency in English, French is a plus
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Team spirit
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience applying statistical/ML methods and experimental design principles to R&D problems
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills
  • Good programming skills in R and/or Python languages
  • Experience in data manipulation/modeling and open-source analysis libraries
