Ametra is seeking a highly motivated Numerical Methods Engineer to contribute to our cutting-edge research and development efforts.
As part of our dedicated R&D team, you will play a crucial role in developing innovative numerical methods for the efficient analysis and design of complex structures and hybrid assemblies, such as metal composites.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Implementing an in-house calculation code to apply advanced numerical methods like Peridynamics, XFEM, and others to diverse structural configurations.
- Validating the predictive capabilities of these methods through rigorous testing and analysis.
- Collaborating closely with project managers and engineers to integrate your developed methods into practical design workflows.
- Contributing to the advancement of numerical techniques for industrial applications within our engineering team.
We are looking for an individual with:
- A recent Ph.D. in Solid Mechanics, Numerical Methods, or a closely related field.
- A strong understanding of anisotropic material behavior and its implications in structural analysis.
- Proficiency in numerical methods such as the Finite Element Method (FEM) and/or Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH).
- Experience in scientific programming using Python and/or C++ to develop efficient, well-documented, and maintainable code.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively work within a multidisciplinary team environment.
