About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Analytics Engineer to join our Data Team at Fabulous. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining our analytics pipelines and data models.

Your primary focus will be on Data Modelling and Analytics Engineering, working closely with the Head of Data & Analytics to improve, enrich, and maintain our data models and analytics pipelines. You will also contribute to our code base, building, testing, reviewing, and maintaining solid analytics pipelines using SQL and dbt.

We are looking for a self-starter with excellent hands-on skills in Data Modelling, excellent SQL skills, and experience working with modern data stack tools and cloud-based data warehouses. You should be comfortable working in a remote environment and have excellent written and verbal communication skills.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to own some aspects of the team's responsibilities, contribute to team growth and evolution, and help data analysts and scientists improve their engineering skills. You will also be expected to speak up your mind and contribute proactively to improving the team's practices, cohesion, impact, and mission.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain analytics pipelines and data models
  • Contribute to our code base, building, testing, reviewing, and maintaining solid analytics pipelines using SQL and dbt
  • Work closely with the Head of Data & Analytics to improve, enrich, and maintain our data models and analytics pipelines
  • Own some aspects of the team's responsibilities, contributing to team growth and evolution
  • Help data analysts and scientists improve their engineering skills
  • Speak up your mind and contribute proactively to improving the team's practices, cohesion, impact, and mission
Requirements
  • University Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Applied Mathematics
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in Data or Analytics Engineering
  • Excellent hands-on skills in Data Modelling
  • Excellent SQL skills (dbt experience a plus)
  • Excellent Engineering skills (testing, clean coding, peer-reviewing, CD/CI, git workflows, agile workflows, etc.)
  • Previous experience working with modern data stack tools and cloud-based data warehouses
  • Sound business acumen to manage your own projects and business stakeholders
  • Self-starter with the ability to work autonomously and own your projects fully
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
Good to Have
  • Prior experience with some of the tools we use in our Data-Stack (Amplitude, dbt, BigQuery, Metabase)
  • Good analytical and statistical intuition
  • Hands-on Data Analysis skills
  • Prior experience managing modern dbt data pipelines
  • Prior experience in an agile start-up environment
