Your Role as an Engineering Team Lead:
In the capacity of an Engineering Team Lead at Deel, you will play a pivotal role in making technical decisions that enhance the efficiency of the team's operations while ensuring the right tools and strategies are implemented across the organization. We prioritize rapid innovation and customer satisfaction, and despite our size, Deel operates with the agility of a start-up, necessitating the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supervising all projects undertaken by the team, defining technical requirements, and communicating them effectively.
- Identifying potential risks and developing contingency plans promptly.
- Collaborating closely with design and product teams to deliver exceptional product experiences.
- Working in tandem with the Team Lead and Product Manager to ensure alignment with product objectives and timelines.
- Demonstrating excellence in product-driven software development.
- Crafting the software architecture necessary to fulfill the team's objectives and key results (OKRs).
- Providing software development guidance to team members through pair programming and code reviews.
You Will Excel If You:
- Have a strong enthusiasm for technology and the development of scalable, robust software systems.
- Are passionate about creating outstanding user experiences.
- Design and architect software for distributed systems with high-performance, scalability, and availability requirements.
- Drive innovation through rapid prototyping and iterative development.
Qualifications for the Engineering Team Lead Role:
- You are a high-performing individual contributor with strong leadership and organizational skills.
- Highly accountable and trustworthy, capable of building enduring relationships with teams.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English.
- Over 5 years of proven excellence in software development using NodeJS, Express, PostgreSQL, React, and Typescript.
- At least 2 years of experience as a Tech Lead or Systems Architect, preferably in the fintech, trading, or banking sectors.
- A deep understanding of database principles and performance optimization.
- Familiarity with documentation and diagramming techniques relevant to software engineering, including Entity Relationship Diagrams (ERDs), State Diagrams, Flowcharts, Sequence Diagrams, and Class Diagrams.
- Experience with Kubernetes (k8s) and CI/CD pipelines.
Additional Advantages:
