The Local Marketing Strategist is tasked with establishing the vibrant presence of Red Bull within their designated area, aligning closely with overarching global and national marketing strategies. This role involves cultivating robust local connections with key opinion leaders and influencers, both in digital spaces and in-person interactions. The strategist will design and execute marketing initiatives across the four fundamental pillars of the marketing mix: Consumer Engagement, Sports, Culture, and Communications, while addressing local preferences and nuances to effectively resonate with consumers and drive business growth.
Location: Paris & North of France - Based in Paris.
Role ResponsibilitiesStrategic Brand Alignment
Integrate global and national marketing directives and the Red Bull ethos into local operations, focusing on creating a relatable local representation of our brand.
Maintain a deep understanding of consumer behavior across various sectors in the region, which will inform local campaign ideation and execution.
Develop initiatives that enhance brand perception and educate consumers about product benefits at the local level, collaborating closely with National Marketing Specialists.
Act as a regional resource, sharing valuable market insights (including consumer trends and competitor analysis) with the national team.
Collaborate with the regional sales team to ensure both mental and physical product availability in On Premise, Off Premise, and New Business settings, ensuring that the product is easily accessible during all marketing activities.
Deliver the approved annual business strategy for the region.
Tailor messaging to resonate across various consumption occasions and moments of need, amplifying key campaigns and engaging with significant local events.
Establish the regional communication strategy in partnership with national specialists, ensuring alignment with national initiatives while addressing regional priorities to enhance local impact.
Work collaboratively across departments, managing both internal and external requests in accordance with the annual business plan.
Elevating Local Engagement
Organize and support local events and marketing opportunities that reflect Red Bull's brand values and resonate with the local audience and media landscape, emphasizing participation.
Ensure every consumer interaction with the brand is exceptional, focusing on meticulous execution at events and throughout all field marketing efforts.
Maintain a consumer-centric and brand-focused approach in all initiatives, effectively communicating with the audience through digital and social media channels while adhering to brand standards.
Enhance select third-party events by determining the appropriate level of Red Bull brand involvement, aiming to boost brand visibility and product engagement in relevant contexts.
Build and sustain a high-quality network of key regional influencers, including local authorities, cultural and sports leaders, and media representatives across various platforms.
Integrate Red Bull athlete engagements into marketing plans and create comprehensive strategies to maximize outreach.
Consistently apply best practices from global, national, and regional initiatives where applicable.
Activate content from the Red Bull Media Network by identifying suitable opportunities and contributing innovative ideas.
Cultivate a premium and aspirational local brand presence on Red Bull's owned social media channels.
Utilize the Event Vehicle program effectively to engage and delight consumers.
Marketing Innovation
Stay attuned to emerging generational trends by engaging with consumers and leveraging insights from local networks.
Involve the local team in generating ideas for field marketing, utilizing their unique perspectives to identify early trends in technology and social engagement.
Develop and implement innovative concepts that bring the brand to life, leveraging local networks and influencers while balancing the four pillars of the marketing mix based on regional knowledge and broader marketing priorities.
Ensure that digital and social media are central to all field marketing activities, and identify cross-marketing opportunities in collaboration with sales and the Red Bull Media Network.
Team Leadership and Development
Oversee a team of four direct reports (Field Marketing Specialists) who manage Student Marketers.
Provide guidance and mentorship to foster their professional growth, emphasizing management skills in line with Red Bull's values and HR practices.
Embody the Red Bull culture, leading by example and serving as a role model while consistently demonstrating the brand's values.
Recruit, train, and manage Field Marketing Specialists who align with the brand ethos and are well-suited for the field environment.
Support Field Marketing Specialists in recruiting and training their Student Marketers, personally approving all hiring decisions.
Establish clear objectives and goals for Field Marketing Specialists to ensure accountability for their key deliverables, conducting ongoing performance evaluations.
Provide continuous coaching and support to help Field Marketing Specialists meet their targets, regularly assessing their development needs in collaboration with senior management.
Identify and nurture potential talent for future opportunities, and train the regional team (including sales) on essential brand strategies and execution guidelines.
Operational Efficiency
Implement and maintain an organized logistical framework for warehousing and infrastructure to support local needs and ensure a premium brand presentation.
Develop and manage the regional budget with guidance from senior management and national specialists.
Continuously seek cost-saving opportunities and operational efficiencies within the region, managing field expenses and administrative tasks effectively.
Forge mutually beneficial partnerships with other brands and organizations to enhance value through shared expertise, resources, and facilities.
Outsource local media-related activities to qualified regional experts to maximize outcomes, coordinating with agencies for event logistics as needed.
Share best practices for collaboration across teams.
Candidate ProfileA degree in Marketing (Bac + 4 / Bac + 5) is preferred.
A minimum of three years of marketing experience, ideally in sports, events, or cultural marketing.
At least three years of experience in line management, with a focus on hiring, training, and team motivation. Experience in commercial teams is advantageous.
Proven track record in project management, budget negotiation, and management.
Strong connection to the Parisian sports and cultural scenes.
A natural connector with exceptional communication and networking abilities, capable of inspiring others.
Strong leadership, planning, and project management capabilities.
A keen understanding of consumer trends and insights, particularly in digital spaces and university life.
A creative marketer with a deep understanding of branding and a focus on innovation.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and collaborate with cross-functional teams with diverse objectives.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including presentation and training capabilities, with the ability to engage a diverse audience.
Language Proficiency: Fluent in French and English.
