Job Details

We are seeking a highly skilled professional to implement innovative stochastic seismic inversion for seismic reservoir characterization of CO2 storage sites. This project is part of the range of solutions identified by the GIEC in its report dedicated to global warming mitigation measures.

The selected candidate will participate in the theoretical development and implementation of a prototype using stochastic partial differential equations (SPDE) for stochastic seismic inversion. This innovative methodology will be developed during the internship and must be implemented then tested on small volumes of synthetic data and real data to validate its application and understand the impact of different parameters and limitations.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement innovative stochastic seismic inversion for seismic reservoir characterization of CO2 storage sites
• Develop and implement a prototype using SPDE for stochastic seismic inversion
• Test and validate the application of the methodology on synthetic and real data

Requirements

• Last year of Engineer School or Masters degree with strong skills in Mathematics, Physics, and Numerical computation
• Strong knowledge of Python and C++
• Theoretical bases of statistics/geostatistics and knowledge of the SPDE approach
