We are seeking a seasoned Senior Software Engineering Manager to lead our Mobile SDK teams. As a key member of our engineering organization, you will be responsible for defining the technical roadmap, managing and growing the team, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software products.
Key Responsibilities- Team Leadership: Manage and grow the Mobile SDK teams, directly managing 6-8 engineers across 2-3 domains.
- Technical Vision: Define our technical roadmap in alignment with product goals and the frontend and backend teams.
- Collaboration: Work directly with partner teams such as Application Performance Monitoring, Product Analytics, and Error Tracking to define the client-side experience of Datadog.
- Team Culture: Create a strong team culture aligned with our engineering standards and our customer focus.
- Hands-on Work: Participate in hands-on work, including code reviews, design reviews, and some coding.
- Leadership Experience: A Software Engineer at heart with previous experience leading software engineering teams, as a tech lead or people manager.
- Interpersonal Skills: Excellent leader with strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to build and lead high-performing teams.
- Technical Expertise: Skilled at building bridges with other teams and nourishing collaborative relationships, managing dependencies between our partners.
- App Development: Interested in the small details that have a large impact on app development.
- Delivery: You have a track record of delivering high-quality software products on schedule and collaborating closely with product partners.
- Technical Skills: Strong technician, particularly in one of Java/Kotlin, Objective-C/Swift, or multi-platform frameworks targeting mobile (Unity, Flutter, React Native).
- Package Development: Experienced at building packages or tooling for developers to use in production.
