Role Overview

As an Optical Engineer within the VIMS division, you will play a crucial role in the development and integration of advanced optical systems for medical devices. VIMS specializes in creating cutting-edge videoscopy solutions for both laparoscopy and arthroscopy, offering innovative methods for recording and analyzing live surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Define specifications and conduct preliminary studies and tests.
  • Design and develop optical systems for integration into medical devices.
  • Prototype manufacturing and testing.
  • Draft test protocols and actively participate in testing processes.
  • Contribute to the development of optical test benches.
  • Engage in scientific and technological research relevant to the position.
  • Oversee complex project management tasks.
Qualifications
  • Degree in optics or optoelectronics.
  • Proficiency in English and French.
  • Expertise in optical calculation and modeling software (e.g., Zeemax).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in industrial devices or medical technology.
Technical Skills
  • Strong foundation in optical design and calculations.
  • Knowledge of instrumental optics, vision systems, image processing, and optical metrology.
  • Understanding of manufacturing constraints and processes.
Interpersonal Skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
  • Strong analytical, anticipatory, and adaptive skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks.

Work Environment

This position requires on-site presence, with the possibility of remote work 1 or 2 days a week.
