Lead Researcher for Electric Vehicle Charging Solutions

Understanding of flexibility mechanisms and relevant markets (EU or USA)
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Oversee a team of 2 to 5 project managers in research initiatives, with a focus on onboarding new team members
- Organize and manage the budget for the research theme
- Act as the primary liaison for EV-related inquiries with business units and OneTech customer lines
- Contribute to and ensure the advancement of OneTech's integrated roadmap concerning EV charging, emphasizing grid interactions and flexibility strategies
- Define and clarify scientific challenges, impacts, and competitive advantages for the company for each project
- Research: Stay informed about the latest developments in relevant projects
- Partnerships: Evaluate existing collaborations and actively seek new opportunities to partner with academic institutions, industries, and startups across the EU, Asia, and the USA
- Communication: Develop and implement a communication strategy for your program or activity

This program focuses on delivering models and optimization solutions aimed at electricity markets and flexibility management for demand-side electrical assets, including electric vehicles and smart buildings equipped with solar energy and battery storage. The increased adoption of electric vehicles can significantly reduce carbon emissions and enhance synergies with renewable energy production. However, the rising demand for electricity to charge these vehicles poses challenges to existing electrical grids. As the leader of EV Charging R&D, you will devise innovative charging solutions that facilitate the large-scale integration of electric vehicles while ensuring the stability of electrical grids. In collaboration with business units, you will assess the business value for the company and prepare for the scaling of these initiatives with support from other OneTech divisions.
