Role Summary
As a Principal Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in the development of our cutting-edge Analytics and Data Integration SaaS products. Your expertise will enable global R&D teams to create highly scalable, efficient, and resilient microservices that cater to mission-critical Data and Analytics requirements for numerous esteemed clients worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
- Integration Development: Design, develop, and maintain application and API integration products primarily using Java across various platforms, including microservices and GWT.
- Tooling Development: Lead the enhancement and maintenance of our Continuous Integration and Deployment (CI/CD) tools utilizing Jenkins and the Kubernetes ecosystem.
- Collaborative Development: Work in tandem with product and engineering teams to define requirements and features, ensuring alignment with business objectives and customer expectations.
- Code Quality and Documentation: Produce clean, maintainable, and efficient code, ensuring comprehensive documentation and implementing automated tests for reliability and performance.
- Continuous Improvement: Collect feedback from internal and external developers to consistently enhance our tools, while staying abreast of new technologies and industry best practices.
- Community Engagement: Actively participate in sharing best practices, organizing events, webinars, and forums to foster engagement and collaboration.
Qualifications
- Proficient in Java, particularly in cloud and microservice environments, with familiarity in Google Web Toolkit and/or Eclipse RCP considered a plus.
- Experience with CI/CD processes, including Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes, and Cloud SaaS environments.
- Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, HTTP protocols, and web services.
- Proficient in version control systems such as Git, with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, particularly for technical documentation.
- Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Preferred: Knowledge of software development best practices, design patterns, and building high-availability systems.
