Job Title: Senior Knitwear Developer

At Canada Goose, we're looking for a highly skilled Senior Knitwear Developer to join our team. As a key member of our product development team, you'll be responsible for leading the development of knitwear styles from concept to commercialization, integrating 3D technology at all stages to optimize efficiency and quality control.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with Design as a co-creation partner, leveraging 3D visualizations and prototypes to bring creative vision to life.
  • Interpret a hand sketch into a render realistic sample & 3D sketch.
  • Utilize advanced 3D sketch platforms to visualize and refine designs before production.
  • Apply deep knowledge of yarns and sweaters to influence fit and construction.
  • Oversee the creation of physical samples and prototypes, ensuring they meet established standards and design intent.
  • Lead 3D form studies to optimize fit, construction, and aesthetic appeal.
  • Conduct fittings and style reviews using 3D renderings and physical prototypes.
  • Manage and enhance 3D libraries and standards to streamline development processes.
  • Research and implement 3D, fit, material, and construction innovations.
  • Identify opportunities to reduce sampling and lead times using advanced 3D technologies.
  • Develop detailed 3D product specifications to guide manufacturing processes.
  • Maintain accurate Tech Packs and Specification pages utilizing 3D software.
  • Create and manage Bill of Materials (BOM) to optimize production accuracy.
  • Collaborate strategically with Design, Sourcing, and Quality teams.
  • Partner with vendors on material development and sourcing strategies.
  • Collaborate with Sourcing and Finance to conduct cost analysis and margin assessment.
  • Maintain alignment with product calendars, providing status updates to stakeholders.
  • Support Quality Assurance and Sourcing in resolving production issues.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives through feedback sharing.
  • Collaborate with Merchandising and Product Education teams.
  • Provide guidance and training to Product Developers and Assistants.

About You:

  • 8+ years of working experience in a Knitwear Development position or similar.
  • Efficient user of 3D software programs specific to fully fashioned apparel & accessories.
  • Degree in Design or relevant field preferred.
  • Proficiency in 3D CLO, PLM, Microsoft Office, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Comprehensive technical knowledge spanning fibers, yarns, and quality testing.
  • Experience with seamless knitting in a manufacturing environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with robust organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Proactive problem solver with a passion for continuous improvement.
