Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Non-Life Treaty Underwriter to join our team in Paris, responsible for France, BeNeLux, Iberia, and Maghreb regions. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of Vig Re in Western and Southern Europe.
Key Responsibilities
- Impact: Create daily impact and shape the future of Vig Re in Paris, taking ownership of developing and executing the strategy for Western and Southern Europe.
- Client Focus: Represent Vig Re in allocated markets, understanding client needs, developing solutions, and actively managing client relationships in a rapidly evolving environment.
- Responsibility: Manage a broad spectrum of responsibilities for P&C treaty reinsurance business within assigned authorities, including analysis, evaluation, negotiation, and binding of profitable treaty reinsurance business.
- Involvement: Be actively involved with colleagues and initiatives, fostering exchange and cooperation throughout Vig Re, and put your ideas into action to shape the business plan and expand our footprint across multiple countries.
Requirements
- Passionate about Underwriting: Have a deep understanding and experience in the assessment and management of risks, with advanced analytical skills.
- Strategic Development: Develop and manage client and broker relationships, representing Vig Re in allocated markets and at conferences.
- Assessment and Management: Assess proportional, non-proportional treaty reinsurance business and complex structures in adherence to Vig Re's processes and guidelines.
- Open-Minded and Proactive: Foresee the development of risk, tool, and market assessments, with strong command of underwriting tools and IT applications.
- Team Player: Proactively integrate other functions in the underwriting process and share knowledge.
- Consistent Underwriting Quality: Contribute to ensuring consistent underwriting quality and pricing standards.
- Education and Experience: Hold a university degree (preferably quantitative studies or economics) and have 8+ years of experience in reinsurance underwriting, with a Casualty background and experience in the markets in scope for the branch being a plus.
- Language Skills: Fluency in French and English, with other language skills from the markets in scope for the branch being a plus.
