We are seeking a highly skilled Lead Software Engineer to join our Data, Software, and DevOps team. As a team lead, you will oversee the development of our Python scientific engine, manage a team of 4 software engineers, and contribute directly to the code base.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a team of software engineers and oversee the development of our Python scientific engine
  • Contribute directly to the code base, either individually or in pairs
  • Organize knowledge-sharing sessions with the team
  • Ensure compliance with internal standards and practices
  • Present progress and goals to the team
  • Contribute to the technical roadmap through architecture meetings and design documents
  • Lead and coach your team to deliver according to their roadmap
  • Provide expertise to help your team develop, optimize, and update software for risk models, data collection, and visualization
Requirements
  • 1+ year of technical management experience
  • Experience mentoring a team of software engineers
  • Excellent communication skills in English and French
  • 3+ years of experience as a software engineer or data scientist
  • Solid knowledge in Python
  • Master's degree in computer science, mathematics, physics, or earth science
  • Experience optimizing and profiling Python code
  • Experience in microservices architecture
  • Good knowledge of Docker
  • Solid knowledge of production development workflow
