Job Overview
This role involves the electronic evaluation, characterization, and calibration of various electronic components within the particle physics detector reading chain. This encompasses low-noise ASIC devices and FPGA-based digitization cards. The evaluation process is essential for comprehending the detector's performance and aiding researchers in their scientific inquiries.
Responsibilities
As a member of the DUNE scientific initiative, you will be tasked with the assessment and installation of electronic reading and data acquisition systems for the DUNE detector. Your primary responsibilities will include evaluating electronic systems and refining testing methodologies.
Key Activities
A significant portion of your time will be dedicated to the evaluation of electronic systems, while the remainder will focus on data interpretation and the enhancement of testing procedures.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in electronic measurement tools
- In-depth understanding of electronic components and systems
- Team collaboration skills
- Familiarity with Linux operating systems
- Competence in technical English
- Curiosity and eagerness to learn
- Ability to analyze and critique measurements
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, C, VHDL is advantageous
- Understanding of network architectures is beneficial
