Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Facilities Maintenance Manager to join our team at the Archdiocese of Chicago. The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, directing, and supervising of all maintenance activities across our facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance management program to ensure the optimal operation and maintenance of all buildings and facilities.
  • Supervise and train a team of maintenance personnel to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Coordinate and oversee the work of external contractors and vendors to ensure that all maintenance activities are completed to a high standard.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify potential maintenance issues and develop plans to address them.
  • Develop and manage budgets for maintenance activities and ensure that all expenditures are in line with organizational policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure that maintenance activities are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Develop and implement procedures for emergency maintenance and repairs.
  • Ensure that all maintenance activities are conducted in a safe and environmentally responsible manner.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher in a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in building maintenance procedures, preferably in a supervisory or management role.
  • Knowledge of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing.
  • Ability to diagnose equipment and mechanical malfunctions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to lift, move, and store heavy equipment and materials.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certifications in building maintenance or a related field.
  • Experience with maintenance management software.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety protocols.
