Role Overview: The Portfolio Manager / Analyst will be an integral part of the Alternative Credit Origination team, which specializes in bespoke securitizations and oversees funds targeting retail clients with complex operational setups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Generate trade ideas through discussions with arranging banks and sponsors, conducting market research, and analyzing competitive intelligence.
- Underwrite and structure new investments, including transaction modeling, legal documentation review, negotiation with counterparties, and due diligence on managers or servicers.
- Monitor existing investments through quantitative performance analysis, cash flow forecasting, and regular communication with key stakeholders.
- Manage the portfolio by allocating validated investments across funds, booking new transactions, and validating net asset values.
- Develop and maintain quantitative tools using Python and Excel VBA for tasks such as ranking CLO managers and producing mark-to-model valuations.
- Support business development by preparing case studies and marketing documents for prospective investors.
- Collaborate closely with IT developers to integrate developed tools into front office systems.
- Work alongside the structuring team on launching or restructuring new investment vehicles.
Your Profile:
Education: A degree from a top engineering or business school with a focus on mathematics, finance, or computer science.
Experience: Previous experience in a banking or asset management environment, with exposure to securitization being a plus.
Skills: Proficient in Excel and VBA, with intermediate knowledge of Python.
