The Ludres facility is seeking a Logistics Operations Supervisor to spearhead the establishment of a dedicated forklift team:
The Logistics Operations Supervisor is responsible for orchestrating shipments to clients while adhering to strict guidelines regarding timelines, quantities, quality, safety, and environmental standards. This role also involves overseeing the forklift team and managing both internal and external storage facilities.
Reporting to the Supply Chain Manager, the Logistics Operations Supervisor will engage in both internal and external collaborations.
- Internal Collaboration: Working closely with site colleagues (Purchaser, Planner, Forklift Operator, Supply Chain Manager) and various site services (Production, Safety, Administrative, Technical, Quality). Planning forklift operator schedules based on the needs of other departments in coordination with team leaders. Communicating effectively with internal stakeholders regarding deliveries.
- External Engagement: Interacting with external partners (carriers, external auditors, suppliers).
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading and managing the forklift operations team.
- Overseeing administrative functions for the team (training, recruitment, skills assessment, leave management).
- Developing and managing the delivery schedule for the upcoming week in collaboration with the Transport Service.
- Preparing orders for dispatch (traceability documents, BL, EDI).
- Ensuring compliance with FIFO practices and maintaining product quality for shipments.
- Adhering to BRC standards for truck loading.
- Ensuring documentation compliance for international shipments.
- Managing and overseeing finished products from production.
- Supervising internal and external finished product storage.
- Overseeing inventory levels and addressing customer requests for stocked items.
- Managing the reception and storage of raw materials, supplies, and various equipment.
- Reconciling physical and digital inventory records and supervising rolling inventories.
- Overseeing the handling equipment fleet across the facility.
- Participating in incident management in collaboration with the Quality Department, implementing medium-to-long term corrective actions and reporting incidents to carriers.
- Complying with site QHSE protocols, including safety practices, waste management, hygiene, security, and environmental standards, particularly those related to the BRC Packaging standard.
- Safeguarding all products against potential threats (intrusion, sabotage, etc.).
As part of their role, the Logistics Operations Supervisor is accountable for:
- Ensuring the effective operation of the service: productivity, safety, and quality.
- Efficiently managing material flows, shipments, and both internal and external storage facilities.
The Logistics Operations Supervisor leads and supervises a team of employees, directly engaging with clients and addressing transport-related incidents while implementing immediate corrective measures. They propose improvements to shipment processes and service efficiency. They serve as the primary contact for intervention requests in case of equipment breakdowns and for scheduling routine maintenance visits for handling equipment.
In the absence of Purchasers, Planners, or the Supply Chain Manager, the Logistics Operations Supervisor may assume their responsibilities partially or fully. Additionally, in the absence of Loading Forklift Operators, they may take on loading or unloading tasks.
The Logistics Operations Supervisor may participate in cross-functional activities (meetings, working groups, audits, etc.) and is responsible for reporting any irregularities or operational issues to their superior while providing suggestions for enhancements.
Required Professional Knowledge:
- Specific Knowledge: Familiarity with techniques, policies, and processes essential for executing the role. Proficiency in computer applications (Pack Office, SAP, APL, Transporéon, etc.). Mastery of equipment and expertise necessary for the role (transport systems, logistics management, etc.). Understanding of customs regulations. Capability to operate handling machinery. Managerial competencies.
- Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Logistics or equivalent with substantial experience. Language proficiency: Ability to communicate in English, both written and spoken. Licenses: CACES 3,4, Motorized lift truck operation.
