Development & Research Engineer @ Grenoble: Functional Package Manager for Distributed Systems and High Performance Computing

About the Role
The successful candidate will join the DataMove team at INRIA, a leading research institution in the field of High Performance Computing. The team is a dynamic and international group of researchers, professors, and students working on various projects related to HPC.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and extend NixOS Compose, a tool for reproducible distributed environments, to improve user experience and add new platform and hardware targets.
- Design and conduct experiments to evaluate Workflow Management System solutions for HPC.
- Run experiments on various clusters and hardware platforms.
- Contribute to research activities, including publications and presentations.
- Participate in tutorials and workshops.
- Provide support to users of NixOS Compose.
- Collaborate with national and international partners on the Exa-AToW project.
Requirements
- Master's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Experience with distributed systems and operating systems.
- Strong technical skills in Linux, system administration, Python, and a functional programming language.
- Knowledge of development processes, including Git, continuous integration, and containers.
