Main Responsibilities

As a key member of the Global Blue team, the Strategic & Operational COO Support Manager will play a crucial role in supporting the company's regional and country operations. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and implementing business case models and analyses to inform commercial and operational decisions
  • Providing commercial tender support, including pricing and negotiation strategies
  • Supporting airports' renegotiation efforts and implementing Group projects and products
  • Sharing best practices among countries and supporting local organization teams as needed
  • Assisting countries in formalizing strategic plans and project follow-up

Governance and Reporting

The Strategic & Operational COO Support Manager will also be responsible for:

  • Assisting the COO in Group governance, including monthly business reviews and strategic business reviews
  • Leading the budget process at the regional level, including organization, review, support, challenge, and presentation
  • Monitoring countries' performance through commercial and operational KPIs
  • Working with Country Managing Directors to design and implement strategic plans, including negotiation strategies for main local clients, airport renegotiation strategies, refund mix optimization, and lobby activities
  • Building and rolling out relevant reporting and analysis models for countries, including receivables management and operational KPIs analysis

Collaboration

The Strategic & Operational COO Support Manager will collaborate closely with:

  • Commercial teams, including Country Managing Directors and Sales & Operational teams
  • Finance teams, including Central and Local finance
  • Other Corporate functions, including the CEO office, Legal, Product, and more

  • A good sense of autonomy, with a balance between managing topics and sharing knowledge
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills
  • Agility and flexibility in a multi-cultural environment
  • Excellent interpersonal and networking skills
  • Ability to build trust relations with country managers and deliver value
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the right level of assertiveness
  • Advanced Excel expertise and ability to handle vast amounts of data and complex business modeling
  • Fluency in French and English
  • Experience in project management is a plus

Technical Skills

The Strategic & Operational COO Support Manager will require:

  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency in BI analysis tools, such as Tableau or MicroStrategy
  • Experience with Salesforce reporting is a plus

Education and Experience

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Master's degree in business administration, finance, sales, or business
  • 5-8 years of experience in a transaction-based services industry, such as telecommunications, financial services, or retail
  • Experience in controlling positions, business analysis, or project management with strong analytical skills
