Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Principal Research and Development Engineer to lead our team in the design, development, and optimization of cutting-edge active implant technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the research and development of critical implant sub-systems from concept to manufacturing.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and technology assessments to inform design decisions.
  • Integrate mechanical and electrical components to optimize performance and ensure regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and execute test strategies for implant prototypes to validate design specifications.
  • Analyze data and recommend design improvements to enhance patient outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for design specifications and regulatory submissions.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing partners to ensure production scalability and quality.
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of innovation within the team.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
  • At least 15 years of experience in R&D or prototype manufacturing in Class III implantable technology.
  • Expertise in medical device design, materials science, and manufacturing processes.
  • Proficiency in CAD (SolidWorks) and design control processes.
  • Skilled in test method development and validation.
  • Proficient in data analysis and statistical methods.
  • Familiarity with medical device regulations (ISO 13485, FDA QSR) is a plus.
  • Strong communication and cross-functional teamwork skills.
  • Fluent in English; French proficiency is a plus.
