Framatome, a leading global nuclear energy company, seeks a skilled Metallurgy R&D Engineer to join our Fuel Operations Business Unit (FOB) in Romans sur Isère, France.
As part of Framatome's commitment to innovation and excellence in nuclear fuel production, the FOB is dedicated to developing cutting-edge technologies and processes. The R&D team plays a crucial role in supporting our global operations by conducting research, testing, and implementing new solutions.
Your Role:
- Lead technological projects and roadmaps within the field of metallurgy, specifically focusing on welding and additive manufacturing.
- Collaborate with specialists and experts across our international network of plants to ensure seamless integration of R&D initiatives.
- Conduct and coordinate R&D actions and tests in close partnership with our plants located in France, Germany, and the USA.
- Identify emerging technologies and trends within the industry, evaluating their potential application to Framatome's operations.
- Provide technical expertise and support to our plants, particularly during quality events and specialized missions.
- Develop and deliver training programs to enhance the knowledge and skills of our team members in metallurgy, welding, and additive manufacturing.
Your Qualifications:
- Master's degree or PhD in Metallurgy with a specialization in Welding.
- Proven experience in the nuclear, aerospace, or metallurgy industries.
- Welding certifications such as International Welding Engineer (IWE) are highly desirable.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, coupled with a passion for innovation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, enabling effective collaboration within diverse teams.
- Fluency in English is essential; German language proficiency is a plus.
