Lead ICSS Engineer Opportunity

NES Fircroft is partnering with a major operating company to add a Lead ICSS Engineer to their team in Nanterre, France.

This contract-based role offers a 36-month duration and the chance to work on a large LNG project in the Middle East.

The role has the potential to mobilize to Qatar (onshore) by the third quarter of 2025, depending on the project's development.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure ICSS engineering activities align with project specifications and approved variations.
  • Accountable for quality design of ICSS engineering deliverables, including design safety aspects and execution planning.
  • Lead ICSS engineering support activities for the Pre-FEED and FEED scope.
  • Provide leadership, coaching, and guidance to Pre-FEED/FEED contractors and sub-contractors to ensure successful delivery of project civil/structural/buildings scope.
  • Apply sound engineering judgment to address technical issues during construction and commissioning execution.
  • Demonstrate visible safety program leadership.
  • Ensure contractors and sub-contractors have adequate plans and work schedules.
  • Monitor discipline progress, detect risks, define actions, and manage them to secure design completion.
  • Assist in preparation and attend project studies, including HAZOP and SIL.
  • Ensure project documents related to the ICSS discipline are reviewed and commented in a timely manner.
  • Ensure standardization with asset and ongoing projects.
  • Ensure close coordination with other disciplines.
  • Work with the quality organization to address systematic quality issues.
  • Participate in weekly and monthly engineering meetings with contractors.
  • Maintain design integrity and quality requirements through change management.
  • Engage resources outside the PMT to resolve key engineering issues.
  • Conduct site surveys to validate field conditions.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Science or Engineering in Industrial Control or equivalent.
  • 10 years' experience working in ICSS, including detailed design and field engineering construction/commissioning phases.
  • Experience in Oil & Gas Facilities, especially LNG facilities and large ICSS scope.
  • Experience with EPC Contractors in Europe and the Middle East.
  • Experience in greenfield and brownfield projects.
  • Technical expertise in control systems (ESD, FGS, DCS).
  • Instrumentation knowledge to interface ICSS.
  • Technical expertise in UCP vendor package control & systems.
  • Deep knowledge in control narratives / FDS / typicals for control systems.
  • Deep knowledge of package & ICSS interface signals.
  • Experience to interface with Cybersecurity teams.
  • FEED experience is required.
Technical and Business Skills
  • Excellent written English and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working in multicultural environments.
  • Fluent with common software applications, including Microsoft Office and SharePoint.
