Our dynamic and agile international team continues to grow and adapt to new challenges. We are currently focused on building the world's most advanced Gigafactory in Dunkirk, France. This facility will have an initial annual production capacity of 16 GWh of lithium-ion batteries by 2025, powering 300,000 electric vehicles annually.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research and development for battery cell formation and testing processes, striving to enhance safety, quality, and productivity within our pilot line and engineering workshop.
  • Analyze and evaluate electrical performance data from battery cells collected in laboratory experiments and pre-production operations. Determine the direct and interactive effects of formation equipment and processes under evaluation.
  • Perform root cause analysis to systematically identify and resolve sources of defects.
  • Provide engineering support to the battery cell formation team and cell assembly production team to address manufacturing process issues.
Requirements:
  • Demonstrate exceptional ability. Verkor embraces a full-cycle engineering culture where members take full responsibility and accountability for their projects from inception to completion. We seek the best of the best.
  • Possess over 10 years of experience working with lithium-ion cell technology.
  • Have experience in a battery manufacturing environment, particularly with lithium-ion battery cell formation and/or testing.
  • Demonstrate expertise in battery cell formation process design and its influence on SEI analysis in the laboratory setting.
  • Possess experience in root cause analysis, defect reduction, and failure analysis.
  • Exhibit strong programming, statistical, and data analysis skills using tools such as Python, Matlab, and Minitab.
  • Have experience with machine learning techniques, including PyTorch, Keras, TensorFlow, and Scikit-learn.
  • Be proficient in electrochemical and materials analysis using techniques like EIS, HPPC, SEM, EDX, and others.
  • Hold a Bachelor's Degree in Electrical/Electrochemical/Chemical/Materials Engineering or a related discipline.
  • A Master's Degree in Electrical/Electrochemical/Chemical/Materials Engineering or a similar field is preferred.
