About the Role

Greenvolt Next, a leading company in Distributed Energy Generation, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head of Construction to join their team in France.

This key position plays a crucial role in the growth of Greenvolt's footprint in France by actively participating in the supervision of construction and project management activities of large-scale renewable energy projects, mainly solar PV.

Key Responsibilities
  • Tendering Process Collaboration: Collaborate with the team in tendering processes (RFQ/RFP) in technical requirements, contract discussions, and negotiations.
  • Project Design Understanding: Possess a good understanding of project design drawings and participate in discussions with designers and BOP Contractors.
  • Quality Control: Supervise the quality of services and products provided by external suppliers, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Documentation Preparation: Define, prepare, and control the documentation required to initiate the construction of renewable energy projects.
  • Bidding Procedure Coordination: Coordinate with the engineering team and procurement department to prepare technical documentation and scope for bidding procedures with external suppliers.
  • Project Scheduling: Schedule project steps and works to achieve efficient, timely, and cost-effective construction of solar PV projects, mainly rooftops and carports.
  • Permit Compliance: Ensure that during the construction phase, all necessary permits, including Building Permits, are respected.
  • Project Status Reporting: Report on project status, recommend solutions, and inform about potential risks to the Country Manager and the Board.
  • Payment Approval and Document Preparation: Manage and control the payment approval and document preparation processes according to project schedule requirements.
  • Internal Communication: Coordinate internal information flow within the Development Team, Accounting, Legal, Procurement, Tax, HSE & Quality.
  • Technical and Time Schedule Management: Manage and control technical, time schedule, H&S, and quality issues during the construction process.
  • Travel and Coordination: Be available to travel to project locations and coordinate work activities to fit project needs.
Requirements
  • Engineering Background: Possess an engineering background, preferably in Electrical or Civil Engineering.
  • Renewable Energy Experience: Minimum 10 years of experience in Renewable Energy projects, mainly solar PV construction, with a focus on rooftops and carports.
  • Interconnections and Parks Experience: Experienced in interconnections and parks.
  • RtB Projects to COD: All-round experience in bringing RtB projects to COD.
  • Construction Management Experience: Solid construction management experience in renewable power plants and high-voltage infrastructures.
  • Communication Skills: Good understanding of how to handle communication with different stakeholders during the construction process.
  • Cost Management: Keep costs aligned with construction budgets and time schedules.
  • Software Proficiency: Experience working with AutoCAD, MS Project, and MS Office.
  • Technical Equipment Knowledge: Familiarity with the components and technical equipment installed in solar PV plants and high-voltage lines and substations.
  • Negotiation and Problem-Solving Skills: Possess negotiation skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • Interpersonal and Communicative Abilities: Strong interpersonal and communicative abilities.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills.
  • Travel Availability: Availability to travel.
  • Language Skills: Good English language skills (written/spoken).
  • Reporting and Teamwork Skills: Good reporting and teamwork skills.
