Job Title: Lead Research Strategist
Company Overview: So Sweet is an innovative start-up dedicated to transforming sweet ingredients through the use of plant-based proteins. Their cutting-edge methodology seeks to lower sugar content and calories in a manner that is both healthy and sustainable.
Position Overview:
- Perform comprehensive evaluations of scientific publications to identify technical hurdles and enhance So Sweet's pioneering processes with an industrial perspective.
- Design and implement experimental procedures in the lab, interpret results, and assist in safeguarding intellectual property.
- Oversee the project from laboratory experimentation to pilot plant scaling in collaboration with external partners.
- Recruit and lead a small team, manage collaborations, and forecast resource requirements for project longevity.
- Effectively communicate progress and work together on financial assessments to ensure project feasibility.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Biochemical Engineering with 3-6 years of pertinent experience.
- Proficiency in plant molecule extraction and purification, quantitative methodologies, and quality assurance.
- Strong leadership abilities, excellent communication skills, and fluency in English.
- Enthusiasm for innovation, collaboration, and a commitment to ongoing improvement.
Work Environment: This position is within the Pharmaceutical and Biotechnology sectors.
