Building Caretaker

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at France Terre d'Asile. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our buildings, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our staff and clients.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, repairs, and replacements of equipment and fixtures;
• Conduct regular inspections of buildings and equipment to identify potential issues and take corrective action;
• Assist with minor construction and renovation projects as needed;
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures to ensure efficient use of resources;
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless operations and minimize disruptions;
• Provide excellent customer service to staff and clients, responding promptly to maintenance requests and resolving issues in a timely manner;
• Stay up-to-date with industry developments and best practices, attending training sessions and workshops as needed;
• Participate in emergency response and disaster recovery efforts as required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or degree in a related field an asset;
• Minimum 2 years of experience in maintenance or a related field;
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Physical stamina to perform manual labor and work in a fast-paced environment;
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate a company vehicle;
• Fluency in French and English required.
