Technopole de Sophia Antipolis, France INRIA Temps plein

Context and skills required

Nanophotonics is a field of research that studies the interactions between light and matter at the nanoscale. As a research intern in our team, you will work on developing a reduced-order modeling (ROM) method using artificial neural networks (ANNs) for nanophotonics. This method will enable the efficient simulation of complex nanophotonic systems.

Objectives

  • Develop an ANN-based ROM method for time-domain nanophotonics
  • Implement the method in Fortran 2003 and Python
  • Assess the performance of the method using model problems

Requirements

  • Master's degree in numerical mathematics or scientific computing
  • Sound knowledge of numerical analysis for PDEs
  • Basic knowledge of physics of electromagnetic wave propagation

Software development skills

  • Python and Fortran 2003

Relational skills

  • Team worker (verbal communication, active listening, motivation and commitment)

Other valued skills

  • Good level of spoken and written English

Duration and location

This internship will last for several months and will be located at INRIA.

How to apply

Please send your application to our team, including your CV and a cover letter.
