About Voies Navigables de France (VNF)

Voies Navigables de France (VNF) is a public institution responsible for managing and developing France's inland waterways. We play a vital role in ensuring safe and efficient navigation, promoting sustainable development, and enhancing the quality of life along our waterways.

We are seeking a dedicated Arboriculture Specialist to join our Waterway Operation Unit. In this role, you will be instrumental in maintaining the ecological integrity and navigability of our waterways by managing vegetation along riverbanks and channels.

• Develop and implement comprehensive vegetation management strategies for our waterways through meticulous on-site assessments and diagnostics.
• Plan and oversee vegetation maintenance operations, including the coordination of contracts with external service providers.
• Collaborate effectively with local communities and stakeholders to ensure transparency and address concerns related to vegetation management.
• Provide support to the Unit Manager in coordinating pontoon teams and conducting river surveillance activities.
• Contribute to ensuring waterway safety by actively participating in flood response efforts and implementing preventative measures.

• Proven experience as a Forestry Technician or in a similar role involving vegetation management.
• Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team in a dynamic environment.
• Solid understanding of forestry management principles and public procurement procedures.
• Valid driver's license and proficiency in operating boats, including swimming skills.
