We are seeking a highly skilled Firmware Engineer to join our team at GoPro, Inc. in Paris. As a Firmware Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing firmware for our cutting-edge products.
About the Role
The Firmware Engineer will be part of our Camera Technology Team, working closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative features for our products. You will be responsible for:
- Designing and developing firmware for our products, ensuring high-quality and reliability.
- Collaborating with the algorithms team to prototype new features and demonstrate their value to the marketing team.
- Working with a cross-functional team to bring up innovations as a real camera product.
- Ensuring non-regression and testing proficiency throughout the development lifecycle.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- 7+ years of significant embedded software development and integration experience.
- Technical English and French proficiency.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
- Deep knowledge and understanding of embedded systems (software and hardware architecture).
- Experience with low-level C, scripting languages (shell and Python), and object-oriented programming languages (C++).
- Linux and GNU tools as your daily working environment.
- Cross-development tools (compilation and debug).
Preferred Qualifications
We are looking for candidates with experience in:
- SIMD programming (e.g., NEON for ARM).
- DSP/CNN programming.
- GPU/Open CL programming.
- Technical imaging knowledge.
- Familiarity with agile principles.
