Our goal is to achieve Net Zero emissions, contributing to global efforts against climate change. As a leader in this field, we collaborate with various organizations to enhance our impact.
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Global Environmental Sustainability Manager who is passionate about addressing climate challenges through innovative solutions in education. This role will oversee our sustainability initiatives, work closely with regional leaders, and provide comprehensive reports on our environmental strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the sustainability strategy for the Aga Khan Academies.
- Oversee data management and reporting processes to ensure high standards of accuracy.
- Facilitate training sessions and workshops focused on sustainable practices.
- Collaborate with sustainability leads across the network to implement effective environmental strategies.
- Design initiatives that promote behavioral changes among staff and foster communities of practice.
- Work with IT teams to establish a global platform for monitoring sustainability progress.
- Build partnerships and networks to enhance knowledge sharing and amplify our impact.
- Support professional development and capacity building for staff.
- Manage relationships with key stakeholders, ensuring alignment with our sustainability goals.
- Evaluate program effectiveness and identify opportunities for enhancement.
Qualifications:
Educational Background:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field, preferably with a focus on environmental science or sustainability. A Project Management certification is advantageous.
Experience:
The ideal candidate will possess over 5 years of experience in sustainability or environmental programs, with a strong background in both educational and ecological initiatives. Proven skills in research, policy development, and advocacy are essential, along with experience in managing teams and fostering capacity building across diverse regions.
