Are you passionate about tackling educational disparities and assisting middle school students in achieving academic success? In this role, you will mentor students through a structured program aimed at enhancing their educational journey. Affordable housing options may be available if necessary.
Your Civic Service Mission
Goals
Through Service Civique, numerous students and volunteers come together each year to assist students encountering academic hurdles and to build connections within disadvantaged communities. By addressing educational and social inequalities, they strive for a more equitable and cohesive society.
Responsibilities
In a REP/REP+ educational setting, your duties will include:
- Leading group sessions weekly focused on study techniques and organizational skills, with the possibility of providing one-on-one support.
- Engaging in workshops covering various civic themes such as discrimination, digital skills, environmental issues, and career guidance, in partnership with educational staff.
- Assisting students in their career exploration, including support with internships, resume crafting, and cover letters.
Your participation will play a vital role in improving the school's environment and invigorating the students' learning experience.
Throughout your service, you will dedicate 2 hours weekly to visit a student's home, aiding them in their educational pursuits.
