The Opportunity

The luxury sector is undergoing significant changes due to fluctuating macroeconomic conditions, evolving client preferences, and new paths to purchase driven by the digital landscape.

In response, GroupM appointed EssenceMediacom in 2017 to deliver profitable and sustainable growth for brands deserving of the world's most successful luxury clients.

As a Global Digital Lead, you will be part of a transformative approach that redefines client communications, evolving the ways of the past and building on today to achieve new levels of excellence.

The Role

  • As GroupM's Global Media Agency, our responsibilities range from media planning and buying, digital communications innovation, education to luxury brands, business planning, consumer insight, thought leadership, reporting, and market management.
  • This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the GroupM account team and deliver international advertising campaigns and global partnerships through the planning and buying of digital media.

Key Responsibilities

  • The Digital Lead will help lead the ideation, creation, development, and execution of innovative marketing strategies and tactics for GroupM at an international level.
  • The Digital Lead will act as a representative of the digital department (digital strategy, tech, data, and digital operations) and GroupM at all times.
  • The role requires luxury sector knowledge to influence and guide GroupM and the luxury brands within the best choices within partners, data solutions, and other stakeholders.

Key Objectives

  • Develop an annual digital strategy/guidelines, working alongside the Digital team and Maison Leads to craft the digital media strategy for GroupM's luxury brands, combining a digital data insight approach, integrated digitally led comms approach, influence/opinion on execution, and how success will be measured.
  • Develop a repository of digital best practice and frameworks, working with the wider team to ensure they are adhered to and evolved between and across clients and markets.
  • Be the lead on integration and understanding of digital within the wider media mix and the interplay of medias, ensuring teams don't work in isolation and are well networked across the GroupM business.
  • Work with the operational management teams, running client relationships to ensure robust operational process and workflow across digital media advertising campaigns in line with GroupM internal process and industry best practice.
  • Maintain relationships with partner agencies, such as GroupM Nexus (Search and Social centralized activation and strategy) and Display and Video specialist teams, to build consistent digital media approaches and ensure delivery and quality control.

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in Digital Media, at an agency or consultancy.
  • Fluency in French, with business proficiency in English.
  • Solid knowledge of key digital media principles and current digital trends and challenges.
  • Exceptional client-serving skills.
  • Strong strategic thinker with a creative mindset.
  • Luxury category expertise a plus.
  • Articulate with good communication and pedagogical skills (verbal and written), with excellent numeric and analytical skills and the ability to translate statistics into insight and actions.
  • A team player who is comfortable with dealing with senior clients and colleagues around the world.
  • Organized and able to work well under pressure with the ability to manage and execute on multiple tasks.

Key Performance Indicators

  • Client: Help to grow GroupM's account, retain existing scopes, and achieve high client satisfaction scores.
  • People: Identification and retention of high-performing talent who could contribute to GroupM's Digital function.
  • Revenue: Contribute towards the achievement of GroupM's revenue targets (to be agreed).
  • Growth: Grow GroupM's account and support future discipline and market growth (growth target to be agreed).
  • Personal development: Positive My360 feedback from manager, peers, and clients (where appropriate).
