About the Role

As a Global Commodity Manager at Hutchinson, you will be responsible for managing global commodity teams and directing worldwide initiatives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Pilot global commodity families related to your scope.
  • Manage functional teams of Regional Buyers for the concerned families.
  • Be responsible for global supplier panel management.
  • Expertise and follow-up of market trends for raw materials.
  • Lead procurement marketing for the product family.
  • Knowledge and analysis of supplier market.
Key Missions
  • Define and pilot the purchasing strategy.
  • Animate the 'Purchasing Family' team (Purchasing Families, Product Engineers, other stakeholders) by analyzing purchasing families, defining objectives, tactical approach, and action plan.
  • Pilot Purchasing Families in the process of selecting the best suppliers for a given product based on Cost, Quality, Deadline, and Innovation and Sustainability.
  • Participate in the development of new products by involving the appropriate suppliers.
Supplier Panel Management
  • Direct management of the global supplier panel (involving several regions).
  • Real-time update of supplier status.
  • Action plans for suppliers.
  • QCDI Property of the process.
  • Follow-up of their financial performance (productivity action plan, competitiveness).
  • Control of their industrial performance (quality, deliveries, sustainability, innovation).
Regional Supplier Panel Supervision
  • Supervise the regional supplier panel, which is directly managed by Regional Purchasing Families.
Market Knowledge and Analysis
  • Search for new global potential suppliers.
  • Search for new products, materials, innovations that can create a competitive advantage for Hutchinson.
  • Involve Product Engineers in the validation of new suppliers and new materials.
  • Pilot VAVE initiatives.
  • Follow-up and prediction of market trends for raw materials. Anticipate purchasing strategies accordingly.
  • Expertise of market prices.
Cost Modeling
  • Analyze product and raw material cost structures to build cost models.
Optimization of Volumes and Synergies
  • Collaborate with Group Purchasing Managers and other Purchasing Managers to optimize volume effects and synergy opportunities.
  • Challenge and deploy Group purchasing strategies for raw materials and deploy prices and other contractual conditions by regions.
  • Pilot weekly operational meetings and monthly review results with Regional Purchasing Families to control global activity and performance.
  • Pilot initiatives for sustainable development to progress the panel towards the 'zero emission' goal.
About You

You hold a higher education degree (Bac +5) with a specialization in purchasing. You have a minimum of 10 years of experience in international purchasing of raw materials in the automotive or aerospace industry. A chemical engineering degree would be an asset.

You master negotiation techniques, market tools, and solutions for purchasing management (e-procurement, e-sourcing, outsourcing).

You have knowledge of the company's different departments in terms of economic constraints and organization.

You know how to optimize purchasing performance through your knowledge of project management methodologies and your skills in information systems.

English is essential for the position (negotiation level).

Travel is expected.
