As a Senior Wind Engineer at EDF Renouvelables, you will be part of the Engineering Department and report to the Head of the Wind Resource Assessment Team.
Key Responsibilities:- Estimate wind resource and power production for onshore wind projects in France and internationally.
- Provide technical support to project managers during the development phase.
- Define measurement methods for wind resource assessment.
- Analyze data from measurement campaigns.
- Optimize wind turbine placement and component selection.
- Calculate power production and associated uncertainties.
- Develop preliminary technical project reports, including acoustic, accessibility, electrical design, and geotechnical risk analysis.
- Review and analyze external studies on wind potential for project acquisition and tender responses.
- Develop power production studies for tender responses.
- Analyze discrepancies between estimated and actual production - lessons learned.
- Collaborate with other departments and entities within the group.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies.
- Challenge suppliers on technical aspects.
- Develop synthesis notes and disseminate knowledge.
- Collaborate with EDF's R&D department.
- Participate in due diligence and tender processes.
- Develop power production studies during project acquisition and tender phases.
- Analyze and critique external studies.
- Support junior wind engineers.
- Act as a reference point for junior wind engineers and challenge assumptions in power production studies.
- Master's degree in engineering with a focus on energy.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in renewable energy and wind power production estimation.
- Excellent expertise in wind resource estimation and wind power production estimation.
- Project management and team leadership skills.
- Proficiency in Windpro, WAsP, and Meteodyn software.
- Programming skills in Matlab, R, and Python.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in French and English.
- Strong analytical and synthesis skills.
- Autonomy, rigor, and dynamism.
- Permit B required.
