Job DescriptionThe Quality Manager will play a critical role in ensuring the design, industrialization, and production of our train assets meet the highest standards of quality. This involves overseeing metalwork on car body shells, restoring historical vehicles, and integrating systems and subsystems on board the train. The successful candidate will work closely with the Project Manager, Technical Director, and Procurement Manager to ensure seamless collaboration and effective communication.
Key Responsibilities- Quality Monitoring: Conduct regular site visits to monitor production services, review quality records, and interface with industrial suppliers and certification bodies.
- Quality Assurance: Verify and archive quality records, conduct supplier audits, and track progress car by car.
- Maintenance: Monitor measurement, control, and testing equipment, as well as ECE certification (C function) of Orient Express, if required.
- Administrative: Record orders and receipts on the supplier monitoring tool.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of the railway sector and its technical specificities.
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements and standards in the railway industry for welding of railway vehicles and components.
- Extensive experience in metal work and welding processes, with a strong emphasis on quality control and assurance (ISO 9001 and EN 15085 expert).
- Proficiency in leading supplier audits, assessing compliance with quality standards and contractual requirements.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make informed decisions quickly.
- Fluency in French and Italian, with proficiency in English considered a strong asset.
- Understanding of railway systems, including electrical systems, signaling, windows & doors, IT infrastructure.
- Strong sense of organization, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel on short notice, both domestically and internationally.
- Team-oriented and excellent communication skills.
- Positive attitude.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel, for data analysis, reporting, and documentation management.
